####################
# SWMconvert-1.95b #
####################

Hermit has released SWMconvert-1.95b, a new command-line tool designed to
convert compositions from SID-Wizard SWM format into GoatTracker SNG files,
with optional compatibility for workflows like NinjaTracker.

This new version is a fully hand-coded implementation. It aims to preserve many
SID-Wizard-specific composition features while producing the more compact output
format used by GoatTracker. However, some effects cannot be translated due to
limitations in the target format.

The goal is to combine the usability and feature richness of SID-Wizard during
composition with the smaller exported file sizes of GoatTracker-based workflows.

The release includes builds for Linux (Intel 32-bit and 64-bit) and ARM
(Raspberry Pi Zero, 32-bit soft-float). The author notes that the tool has
minimal dependencies beyond the C standard library, making it easy to compile on
other systems, including Windows.

The tool can be found here: https://csdb.dk/release/?id=262049

# Sid2Goat 0.4 #
################

Sid2Goat is a utility made by RS-232 designed to convert Commodore 64 SID files

###############
# FlexSID 1.4 #
###############

FlexSID is a music editor made by Mihaly Horvath (Hermit). FlexSID is primarily
a tool for you to create small footprint SID music. Yet it provides flexibility
and most features you usually need for good sound.

To reach this goal it's a bit different conceptually from the traditional music
trackers: diatonic scale-degree based notation system for better music-data
compression where it is possible, and the single command-oriented
instrument-table which is responsible for the small player-code size. The result
pretty much depends on the musician as well.

The editor is written in C (and some ca65 assembly), compiled with cc65 and gcc
with a quasi-emulated layer on top of SDL1.2, and therefore runs identically on
Linux (compiled for 64bit) and of course C64.

The following has been changed since 1.2:

- Exported PRG/SID can be re-imported (partial data loss)
- SID/display emulation optimized for Raspberry Pi Zero and slow CPUs
- Uses compress64k-v1.2 for faster startup, slightly larger executables
- Added Shogoon .flx examples (with permission)
- Various display and user manual fixes and improvements
- FlexSID improved ARM support for low-power devices (EEEPC, Pi, etc.)
- Three FlexSID variants added with different zeropage usage trade-offs
- Linux release: single FlexSID executable with CLI/symlink variants
- Includes tutorials folder for learning and composing tiny intro tunes

##############
# cRSID 1.58 #
##############

cRSID is an open-source cycle based sidplayer made by Mihaly Horvath (Hermit).
This is an integer-only rewrite of cSID and cSID-light. The new sidplayer is
able to play most RSID tunes and of course PSID tunes. It includes a
pre-compiled executable for Windows and Linux.

Changes since version 1.56:

- Narrower stereo field for 2–4SID; 'Wide' is full separation mode
- Removed sinc-based decimation due to noise and use Chebyshev+Averaging
  decimation instead
- Dither noise volume reduced by half
- Fix: 6581 filter cutoff wraparound since 1.55 (Myth.sid exposed it)
- RTI IRQ optimization at $DC0C now supported (like $DD0C)
- Playlist moved to right side
- Dither noise added
- ALSA sync/timing stablilized

The new version can be found here: https://csdb.dk/release/?id=261057

###########################
# SID Detector II v1.5.05 #
###########################

SIDdetector II is an open-source Commodore 64 diagnostic utility developed by
Michael Troelsen. It can identify over 24 different variants of the SID chip,
ranging from original hardware to FPGA implementations, microcontroller-based
replacements, and PC-based emulators.

- Added Quality Fingerprint (Q) page with SID score and $D418 decay
- Added automated real hardware Q-page validation on Ultimate 64
- Fixed two critical Q-page bugs causing memory and stack corruption
- Fixed swapped 6581/8580 names on the debug page
- Corrected names for PDsid, SIDKick-pico, secondSID and UltiSID
- Unified chip-name tables to keep all screens in sync
- Expanded automated testing from 35 to 43 test cases
- Improved documentation for the Q page, testing and implementation

###############################
# SidPlay64 SongLength Update #
###############################

MilaSoft created a tool to inject song lengths into SID files that is supported
by Sidplay64 written by 6R6.

This update provides a drop-in replacement for the existing InjectSongLengths
folder (tested with v1.21). It improves how song length data is handled and
adds a few new features.

It supports both Songlengths.md5 and Songlengths.txt files. When enabled via
a command-line option, it can also generate SSL files.

Key behavior:

- Prioritizes Songlengths.md5, then Songlengths.txt
- Requires Songlengths.md5 to be in the target processing folder if used
- Safe to run multiple times without causing issues
- Only processes PSID/RSID version 2 files; others are ignored
- SID files not found in the database are skipped with a notification

The tool can be found here: https://csdb.dk/release/?id=261523

####################
# SIDM2conv v3.4.1 #
####################

Michael Troelsen released a new version of the SID to SID Factory II Converter,
bringing a major update to a Python-based tool that converts Commodore 64 .sid
music files into SID Factory II .sf2 project files.

The tool focuses on high-precision reverse engineering of SID music data,
including full support for Laxity NewPlayer v21 files with near-perfect frame
accuracy. It has been tested against over 658 SID files and achieves up to
99.93% accuracy for complex drivers, with perfect roundtrip conversion for SID
Factory II exports.

Key improvements include automatic driver detection, enhanced memory region
analysis (ROM/RAM), and a new HTML-based annotation system generating thousands
of semantic markers per file. Users also get an interactive trace visualization
for debugging SID register behavior frame-by-frame, plus a validation dashboard
showing accuracy trends.

###################
# SID Known v1.31 #
###################

Wilfred Bos has released a new version of SID Known. This version supports now
HVSC #85. SID Known is a command line tool which you can use to identify SID
tunes from SID and PRG files.

This tool can be used if e.g., you want to know which SID tune is used in a
specific C64 demo or C64 game, or you have a SID tune found or ripped and you
want to know if it is already in your SID collection.

SID Known can be used to identify music but it also helps to find out which
tunes are not in the High Voltage SID Collection. If you find music not found
by SID Known, it would be appreciated if you report this to the HVSC crew
(https://hvsc.de) or post it in one of the CSDb forums (https://csdb.dk) like
"SIDs that aren't in HVSC yet".
